90th Birthday!

I thought this young image and the bright and cheery colors would make the birthday gal feel young again! 90 years.... AMAZING!! And she is still in good health! :)
I put ALOT of work and detail into this card...took me about 3 hours from start to finish! But I think it turned out so beautifully!

Supplies: Cuttlebug with dot folder (not sure of exact name?), various eyelets and brads, JustRite stamps, memento ink, Whisper ink, ribbon from stash, Rubber Romance image colored with Copics, Cricut to cut out all shapes except the tag with 90 is from K&Co. I just added the 90 with the JustRite stamper.

OKAY....this is probably a good time to ask. Do you like when I list the supplies like I have been doing the last few posts or should I just stick to describing what I did on my card like I used to do???? Or would you prefer I do both sometimes???
Thanks...I like getting opinions from those that are doing the reading!!

Challenges:
Rubber Romance - Jan. 10th sketch
Crafty Catz - Birthday
Paper Makeup - Birthday
Charisma - Anything new
Simon Says - Shabby Chic .... although I don't really know what this means their blog said it shows wear and tear. So I sanded the background paper and inked up the edges of the sentiment tag. Hope that is correct!
ABC - L is for Layering
The Pink Elephant - Birthday
Crafty Creations - Textures
Practical Scrappers - embossing

Card and Treat from Dawn!

Awhile back ago I asked on my blog where I could buy some Stampin' Up sweet treat cups locally and this sweet lady Dawn was kind enough to ask for my address and mail me a couple out of her own stash! That was so very kind...thanks dear!!! She also sent me this beautiful X-mas card! :)
Here is her blog if you want to check out all her lovely creations!

Thanks again!!

No card just some food!

Once again I am sharing some food I decided to cook up recently. I know if my hubby or parents are reading this they can confirm I am a FOOD ADDICT!! LOL! I LOVE crafting but what I LOVE even more is FOOD!! YUM!!! So please bare with me while I use this same blog to post all kinds of stuff...I just simply do not want to create another blog..and for all I know some of you might be food addicts just like me!! :)

Here we have what I call a Whopper Pie! I bought my DH a HUGE box of Whoppers for x-mas and this recipe was on the box...I don't care for these but he said the pie was delish! Simple to make also...just a graham cracker crust filled with Cool Whip, ice cream and crushed Whoppers!

I saw a Vanilla Slice on my friend Annmaree's blog and it reminded me of these Strawberry Napoleon's I make. Puff pastry filled with vanilla pudding and whipped cream. Then you can add fruit, sauces, whatever! As you can see I doctor mine up pretty heavily! ....oh and I want to give a shout out about Annmaree...she has done some AWESOME cards lately so you might want to pop on over and check them out! You go girl!! :)

These are the most heavenly brownies I have ever tasted! Caramel Black Walnut Brownies....not from a box but from scratch!! YUM YUM YUM!!! Big hit at a football party the other day! :)

And last but definately not least is this Broccoli Cheese soup...this recipe is found here on my friend Dottie's recipe blog. Some neat recipes if you like to cook. Hubby and I agreed it is some of the best Broccoli Cheese soup we have ever tasted!! Thanks Dottie!!! Oh..I should note a change I made was ommitting nutmeg...a spice I do NOT like!!! Then I just added some fresh ground pepper.

I also see I have a few new followers! A big thank you and I hope you continue to follow even after my food ramblings...LOL! Thanks to all of you that take the time to leave me comments...I do appreciate the love! Always puts a BIG SMILE on my face! :)

Are you ready to rock?

* I am posting this before bed because when I wake up the New Year Rockin' Hop at Sassy Studio will have already begun and guess what...? I am part of that hop!!! I am entering this altered container into the contest so be sure to leave me some love!! This was a gift for my mom and the shell paper matches her decor perfectly! Do you know what the altered container is?? Not a gum package....this time it is a Velveeta container!!! This is the PERFECT size for those SWEET tea bags (gotta love fruity flavored tea!!). So easy to make too...just cover the container with paper. Then I colored the Sassy image with Copics and adhered to some scalloped circles I cut out with my Cricut...VOILA!!

Thanks so much for stopping by...I appreciate each and every comment!

Valentine's Day gift

This is an altered Crystal Light container. You just never know what you will find to use for crafting! It was so simple to make too. I just covered it with red paper and cut out all my images with my cricut and glued together! Simple yet effective! Then I filled it up with my hubby's favorite...reeses cups! Afterwards it could be re-used for more candy or a bank or anything else you could come up with!

Challenges:
Polka Doodle - song title
Be My Valentine
Valentine's Day Song
By: Jack Hartmann

Our Creative Corner - 3D challenge to alter something
Squigglefly - Anything but a card
Kaboodle Doodles - Anything but a card
2 Red Bananas - Round with lots of curves (there are several curves here including the container and on my scalloped image, etc.)

With Love!

This is my first Valentine's card I made for the year. The digi image is from TMITA and I colored her with Prisma pencils and copics. Then added some red glitter to the stripes on her outfit. Added some ribbon with the delicate loops on it...found this really cheap at Wal-Mart. Sentiment is from Hot Off The Press (Tiny Words). The hearts I cut out with my new Cuttlebug and the calendar Sizziz dies I won in a candy. Painted on some Angel Wings Shimmerz for that added shimmer!

Voila!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I really appreciate all my followers and the lovely comments you always leave me! :)

Challenges:
There's Magic in the Air - Use the digi image provided and include stripes.

Before and After....LOL!

I think I'm the last person to take my Christmas tree down....it was so pretty I wanted to leave it up forever! LOL! But unfortunately it started to die :( This year we got a much bigger tree than normal not thinking of how we were going to get it out of the house. When we brought it in they had it roped up so it was small and it fit through the doorways no problem. Well, lets just say it wasn't going out the same way it came in! I came up with the idea of chucking it out the window which hubby thought was a terrible idea but I thought that would be better than the alternative of getting pine needles ALL OVER the entire house!! He ended up admitting it was a pretty good idea. The only cleanup was the pile under the window...not bad! Here are the before and after pictures...pretty funny isn't it? Can you imagine what our neighbors were thinking? LOL!

Thank you to those of you that participated in my surprise giveaway!! I also got a few new followers so that is great too!! :)

* Hubby is my guinea pig for drawing names! Thanks for being a good sport hun!

More goodies!

A few more winnings I wanted to share with you!

This selection of beautiful rubbah is from Rubber Romance...I won these by joining in the sketch challenges!

I actually won blog candy from Whimsy Stamps but I was too late to claim it (that week was a tough week) but I understood she had to give the prize away to someone else. Denise was kind enough though to ask me to pick one stamp I would like to have and she would send it to me...so sweet! Was I surprised when I found out she sent me not one but TWO stamps!! Did I mention super sweet?!!

I won this stamp set through the ABC Design hop...perfect for Valentine's Day coming up!

This is what I won through the countdown giveaway at Creatively-Green. They gave a prize away each day. They sent a nice assortment of recycled/green goodies!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! I can't say thank you enough for your kind generosity!!!

That is all for tonight...I better get some rest. Stay tuned for who won my surprise candy...I will announce tomorrow!!

DCRU Challenge #20 - Color Inspiration!

The challenge this week over at the Die Cuts R Us Design Team Blog is to use the colors in the logo that you see below.

What lovely colors!! I made these notebooks for a few family members that always carry these around in their shirt pockets. I was going to decorate the spiral bound with lots of pretty ribbon but thought that would bug them coming out of their pockets so I just left them plain. I use a few notebooks I found at the dollar store and decorated with my stash paper from one of those big packs at Wal-Mart then added some coordinating Prima Botanical flowers with a metallic brad in the center. The finishing touch was to accent the corners with a flourish stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget you still have a little time to enter my candy giveaway here.

-3 Windchill .... BRRRRR!!!

So it is down right cold here today. Still snowed yesterday which was another day off from work. This is a picture taken yesterday from the upstairs of my house looking out at the crossroad in town. As you can tell the snowplows have not been down them yet. They did go down them yesterday afternoon which was after this picture...but when we woke up this morning...more snow! Total we only got about 4 inches which really isn't very much...just enough to make it look really pretty! We have been on the roads every day and they really aren't that bad. What is bad is when it starts to melt and then re-freezes to ICE...then we have problems!

Hope you enjoy the winter scenery!

I bought a cheap grey sweatshirt and found this cute pink iron-on that says PRINCESS...right up my alley! Since it is sooooooooo cold outside I could definately use this to warm me up!

In Style Bag!!

I am trying to win one of the new environmentally friendly tote bags. So here are my answers to the questions you gave me!

1. Carol Duvall Show on HGTV
2. Paris Hilton
3. This question could be taken two different ways so one answer would be anime and retro....the other would be digi and rubber.
4. STICKLES!!!
5. I think this is a trick question! But I am picking the ones with a boy and girl together in the same image.
Mike and Jessie, Dan and Mandy, Lance and Lisa, Leang and Sei
That would make four different couples stamps!

Whew! Hope I passed the test! LOL!
Thanks!

I went out to take some pictures this morning....this is just the start of what we are getting today. The top picture is my chocolate lab Willie! Isn't he so cute?
The next two pics are of the woods at my parents house and a cornfield across the road. The last picture is the drive on my way home.

Super pretty out don't ya think? I don't mind the snow too much I just don't like ice!

New Year 2010 Surprise Candy!

* This candy is now closed!

I was very blessed in 2009. I made some new friends, I have good health, I have acquired lots of new crafty goodies either by purchasing them myself...receiving as gifts or winning on blogland! My hubby and I bought a great piece of land and I have a job that I love tremendously! Many many many more things to mention but I will stop there for now! Lets just say I am grateful for so many wonderful things that have happened to me and I hope that 2010 will be even greater!! :)

Do any of you have New Year Resolutions?? Well I am like most people and tend to break them very quickly...LOL! This year my GOAL (resolution) is to get more organized and stop the piles upon piles of clutter! Easier said than done right?!
I also want to be more giving...not just with money or donations but in all aspects...more gifts just because or maybe do some volunteer work, etc. I always get so much and in 2009 I was pretty good about giving (maybe that is why I got so much...good Karma?) but I want to do MORE! It is tough to find ways to help in such a very small community but I will atleast try. If all else fails I will atleast continue with the small contributions I have been making...every little bit helps right?

Okay, Okay....you want to know about the candy right??? Let me hear you say YEAH!!!
LOL! Alrighty, I am going to kick off 2010 with a surprise giveaway...see I'm already being more giving! :P What do you have to do you ask?? Easy Peasy...just follow the steps below!

1. You must be a follower but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE only follow if you like my blog and you are going to stick with me!
2. Please post about this on your blog and leave me a comment with the DIRECT LINK to the post. I will be checking!
3. To make this a little amusing for me....hehe...I'm such a stinker! In your comment please list a crafty item you think I got for Christmas!!

All entries must be received by next Monday January 11th at 6:00PM EST. That gives you exactly one week to spread the word and enter! Anyone from anywhere can enter!

If I get atleast 50 followers AND entries I will randomly pick 2 winners!!!

Good luck!

Ornament gift card holders...

I got my teenage nephew a few gift cards for fast food places...FOOD a teenagers dream gift! LOL! I wanted to spruce up the gift a little so I made these gift card holders and also combined them into an ornament. I thought they turned out really neat! I cut out the papers with my cricut and embossed the snowflakes in gold. Added some red sparkly ribbon and voila! I put these on the tree and he had to find them.... who says money (okay money in the form of a plastic card!) doesn't grow on trees?? LOL!

Catching up...

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Mine was pretty good but we did have a death in the family. :( My great great Uncle passed away on x-mas eve. He was a terrific guy with a gentle heart and a good sense of humor....he always had a joke about my eating habits. He made it to his 90th birthday and just celebrated a 67 year anniversary with his wife! Those of you that are racing fans will enjoy this bit of information...Uncle Kenny was a faithful Indy car fan and attended 72 Indianapolis 500 races!! He will be missed greatly. The passing of a family member is always hard and even more so during the holidays. The funeral was Monday so I am just now trying to catch up with things. I will be posting a few items I created last week later.

Merry Christmas!!

Since some of you are already celebrating on different time zones I wanted to go ahead and share a picture with you of our Christmas tree this year...probably our best one ever!! I love how big and full it is...about 9 foot tall! :)

Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe holiday with friends and family. Hope Santa blesses all of us with some crafting goodies too! hehe!

Hugs!

More yummy treats

I know this isn't a cooking blog BUT I do not want to create a separate blog...I can barely keep up with this one!! LOL! So, you will get a little bit of everything on here! Right now I want to show you some treats I made the other day when I was in a serious baking mood! I already showed you the Anzac Biscuits and I must say those are DELISH!! The above treats have also been tested by either myself or other family members and they all pass the YUMMY test! LOL! The top cookies are peanut butter. A recipe I got at my bridal shower a few years back from my hubby's aunt and I finally decided to try them. Now I won't touch these because I don't like very much PB but my DH sure knows how to stuff his face with them! The second ones are oatmeal raisin and I got the recipe from Charlotte here. A little sticky to work with but they taste AMAZING!! The last things are pretzels filled with chocolate/caramel and walnuts. So I guess they are pretzel turtles. A little idea I got from a lady I work with at school. I prefer them without nuts so I made a little of both even though the ones in the picture all have nuts. That is all for now as I do believe I have enough to munch on for the holiday! :P

For those of you doing the same thing this week....HAPPY BAKING!! And the rest of you...HAPPY TASTING!! LOL!

Card from Gosfield!

Just wanted to share with you the card that Angie's (her blog here)) parents sent me. It is so lovely! This is my first x-mas card ever from outside the USA. I was not expecting them to send this at all and I really appreciate their thoughtfulness. Angie... you have some very sweet parents! :)
