Ace of Hearts...

Digi is a freebie from Sassy Studio Designs and the sentiment is a JustRite stamp

So I found this gift box tutorial at Sassy Studio Designs. I thought it was a neat idea and thought I would give it a try. I have been getting a little more out of my comfort zone lately of just cards and I LIKE it!!! So many projects out there I want to try and usually I just stare at them because all the steps seem intimidating but most of them I'm finding out are super super easy!!!

This is something I will probably give to my hubby for Valentine's Day so I tried to stay away from making it look too girlish. I did add a little sparkle to the rose and heart but not much. Also added the ribbon and a little pink but tried to make it as little as possible! :)

This is a good size box for candy and I also think it would hold a nice stack of PB cookies...which is probably what I will put in mine! He is a PB fanatic!! LOL!

Gifts from a friend!

I received this lovely package from my good friend Annmaree. Just look at that beautiful hummingbird card she made me...super stunning! She sent me a really pretty assortment of paper and some dragonfly/butterfly cutouts to match! They are super thick so that will be good for dimension! Some tropical alpha stickers, baby embellishments and something I have always wanted to try...a card kit where it gives you a colored picture and a gold overlay sticker to put over it. Very cool! The last thing in the goodie bag is something that is just so special...you can see it in the bottom left of the picture....a kangaroo/Australia necklace!!! I have two good pals in Australia now (Annmaree and Merry) so I was just thrilled to get this necklace especially with a native animal and the country ... plus my favorite color is blue!! How perfect! I have already put it on and it is lovely!
Thank you very much for everything Annmaree!!! :)

Gift Pocket Card!

Digi is from Doodle Palace and it is from this weeks new release! Should be available sometime tomorrow!
Sentiment is a JustRite stamp!

Okay, so I decided to be a little adventurous this evening and try a new project. This is a pocket card and the tutorial is found here on the Whiff of Joy page by Rach. I thought it would be super super hard to make but nope it is easy!
Now your probably wondering why I chose to color a sunflower pink....well I just decided it looked cuter that way! HEHE! Good enough reason right?
And while I was at it I thought to myself....who said you have to use a ton of hearts and red and tell everyone Happy Valentine's Day or I Love You on the card/project?? I decided NOBODY...hey in my crafting world I sometimes go out of bounds but I think that is what makes a project neat and unique!! So as you see above this is my very un-traditional "Valentine" gift for someone!! LOL! Tell me what you think...I would love to hear if you like my "thinknig outside the box" ideas!!

Challenges:
Corrosive - Love
Practical Scrappers - Die Cuts
Cute Card Thursday - Flowers
Secret Crafter - hearts (only one but there is one on the flower pot!)
ABSC012 - Sketch and bling
Artful Inkables #12 - Spring (colors)
DCRU - Sugar Rush (colors)
Sophisticat - Love
JustRite003 - Valentine Love
Stamping Vacation - Pick 3 (I chose to use wire...it is binding the ribbon in the middle, 2 different die-cuts...circle from Spellbinders Nesties and scallop from Cricut, image that grows...the flower)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and checking out my projects. I enjoy reading all the feedback you give me! Have a great rest of the evening or day depending on where you live!! :)

RAK from Merry!

I received this lovely package of goodies from my sweet friend Merry...you can check out her blog and all her wonderful creations here. She has sent some pretty papers with shimmer and sparkle (my fav!), an assortment of stamped images that I'm sure she knows I will just LOVE to color up, some pretty stickers that I always comment about how much I like them on her blog (I can't seem to find these where I live), inchies and card holder (close-ups below) and this neat book about a breed of dog native to Australia called the Smoko or blue heeler! I just love it all!! :)

This is a close up of the stunning card she made with a matching card holder!! It is just gorgeous! It is displayed in my living room for all to see! The picture really doesn't do it justice...I mean the flower is just stunning! :)

And this is a close up of the inchies that Merry and her daughter made. Look at all the detail! Truly remarkable how they created such beautiful work with such small pieces! Make sure to thank your daughter for me! :)

Merry was my first follower (after my hubby) and she was such an amazing help to me learning the blogging stuff. She offers wonderful inspiration and kind support! Truly a good friend....thank you Merry!!!!
