Birthday Gift Pocket...

I am loving these gift pocket cards!! In case you missed the other one I did you can find the tutorial by Rach here.

This is what I created for my hubby's grandma for her birthday. It was the perfect size for a metal decoration I bought for her. It has a crystal on it that when the light hits it you can see a rainbow of colors! Super neat!

Used some scrap paper and ribbon. Glittered up these gorgeous butterflies I got from my pal Annmaree and they added the perfect touch! I couldn't believe how well the colors matched my paper...absolutely perfecto!!! :)

Challenges:
C.R.A.F.T - wedding or birthday
Corrosive - birthday
Flutterby Wednesday - Use a fairy, butterfly or angel
Simon Says - birthday/celebrations

Sorry that I have been MIA lately. The last few weeks I have been chasing my tail around and it has been hard to keep up with everything. Just wanted you all to know I have not forgotten about you and I will hopefully be able to post something tomorrow providing I don't have to work.

Thanks for hanging in there and waiting on me! :)

Picture Perfect Photo Album!

I made this for a girl that was diagnosed with a form of cancer. She likes owls, crafts and photography so I bought one of those photo albums from the dollar store and decorated it up a bit. Dustin Pike was nice enough to send anyone that was making her something a few owl freebies that he created...so cute!! Figured she could use the album to put some of her fav pictures in and I also stamped several different owl images and put them inside for her to color.

I misted the background paper with a few different shimmerz spritz. Colored the image with Prismas and OMS. Added a little glossy accents to the camera lens and flash although you can't really see it in the picture. I customized the K&Co. tags with my JustRite stamp kit. Made the flower following a tutorial here. Embossed the back page and cut then embossed the stamp with my Cuttlebug.

Challenges:
Etsy Inspired - Inspired by the owl and colors here.
A Spoon Full of Sugar - 3D something
Die Cut Dreams - Make your own flower
Digital Tuesday - Anything but a card and use a digi
Crafty Creations - Create your own background
Charisma Cardz - Girlie with flowers
Cute Card Thursday - Make your own

WOYWW??

Well, some stuff has moved since a few weeks ago and some stuff hasn't. I have not had much time the past two weeks to craft but I hope things will slow down a bit soon and I will get to play with some new goodies I just bought!

Last time I had a few questions I wanted to answer.
1. Is green my fav color?? Nope, my fav color is actually blue! I painted that room green because I share it as a hunting room with my hubby...that is why you have seen deer heads in some of my pictures before! There are also lots of skins and a mounted turkey feather, beard, feet thing....LOL! Everyone wonders how I can create with all that stuff looking at me and I just say...well you get used to it. It was either put all that stuff in this room OR put it in the living room! I can deal with it in my craft room!! The good news is that when we move we will have our own separate rooms!! YAY!!!

2. What is in the pop tart box?? I am sad to say that there are not pop-tarts in the box (I had already eaten all of them...HEHE!). I actually use it to store my tubes of cheapie glitter! The caps don't stay on very good...they don't twist on or anything....so I thought to myself that this would make a perfect box for such thing and it works great!! :) Food for thought!! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by to look at my "not so tidy anymore" craft room!!

You've Got Mail...

Digi image is from Doodle Palace

Isn't this just the cutest giraffe?! How funny would that be looking over your fenced in yard and seeing this cutie delivering your mail!! Yes, I know it will never happen but it is still a fun thought! What can I say I have a good imagination as I'm sure most of you do too...it is part of our creative nature! :)

This was also my first attempt at weaving on a card....NOT EASY! But I think it turned out better than expected.

Challenges:
Crafty Calendar - Fun or humorous

Truffle Box!

This is a freebie template designed by Gina Jane and I got it here.

I really haven't tried many templates before...I can only think of one and that was a mini milk carton. This was very easy to make...just print, cut and fold. I did have a tad trouble trying to get the box to STAY closed but we eventually came to an understanding! LOL! I found that it is a perfect size to fit a single Ghiradelli chocolate too....hazelnut and milk chocolate...YUM! That combination gets me every time! :)

Challenges:
Penny's - Anything goes
Oh Alice! - Flowers
Creatalicious - Wings and flowers
Makeup 4 The Weekend - Use a template
Flutterby Wednesday - Open but must use an angel, butterfly or fairy

Girl with butterflies...

Because of time constraints I stuck with a pretty simple card...if I had more time I probably would of tried to add a sky, maybe grass and some glitter. But I still think it turned out pretty cute!

Image is from Alota Rubberstamps (not sure of specific name...got it in a grab bag)

Challenges:
Allsorts - Petals and pearls
Oh Alice! - Flowers
CPS - Sketch
Flutterby Wednesday - Open ... just make sure you have an angel, butterfly or fairy on your project
TPE - 1 image, 2 dies and 3 embellishments
Cupcake Craft - Childhood memories
Lily-Boo Too - Use the colors yellow, pale green and blossom
Roses on Paper - Layers and you must use certain stamps (I used Alota)
Penny's - Anything goes
Creatalicious - Wings and flowers
Fab N' Funky - Use a neglected stamp ... sad to say many of my stamps are neglected :( But hopefully I can change that!! :)
Stamptacular Sunday - Spots and dots
Corrosive - Texture

Thanks for stopping by and if you like my work send some people this way...always happy to see new followers and yes I'm glad to KEEP old followers too!! Don't want you all feelin' unloved! HEHE!

No card...

No card yesterday or today because I have been working my tushy off out at our property building a new house. Exhausting I must say! I was going to share a few pictures including an ice hockey game I went to last week but I got a new phone and I can't figure out how to get the pictures off my camera! LOL! Looked online for instructions but my computer isn't recognizing my USB cable soooooo I will have to wait til I have more time to troubleshoot.
Anyone else out there an ice hockey fan?? This was by far the best game I had ever been too and the side I was rooting for won! YAH! Everyone even got free Frosty coupons from Wendy's....sweet!

Well, thanks for listening to me ramble. I will be back sometime in the next couple of days with a card or project of some sort!

Thanks for being such wonderful and faithful followers! You rock!

Groovy Kind of Love!

Digi image is from Squiggle Stamps

Totally Gorjuss - Texture

Neapolitan Presents!

Image is from Sassy Studio Designs

Okay, I have had another very productive day! YAH! You will be seeing more than one post today...hope you enjoy!

This image is from Stampavie and is called Lilo and Milo (Rainy Days)
The flourish is from Stampology

I used glossy accents on the water and also embossed the yellow paper with circles...I hope you can see that! I couldn't get the glistening water to show up in my lightbox so I took this picture a different way and then the embossing didn't show up that great...always one thing or another! LOL! You might be able to see it better if you click on the image for a larger view.

A Bright Mother's Day!

Digi image is from Fresh Brewed Designs
Sentiment is a JustRite Stamp

I know this probably isn't a traditional looking Mother's Day card but my moms favorite color is green and she LOVES bright colors...just like this lime green! So she should be very pleased with this card! :) Neither of us drink hot coffee but we do love hot chocolate!

Challenges:
Doodle Palace - Mother's Day
Creative Inspirations - Lime green and black, flowers are optional
AiFactory - Mother's Day
Stamping Vacation - 4th Build-A-Sketch

Flower Girl!

As requested I got in my cleaned up craft room to mess it all up again! HEHE! Not too bad though...I am trying to keep it tidy each day now!

This is a digi from Karen's Doodles and I think she looks like a little flower girl in a wedding...so cute with her freckles and frilly dress! Added some sparkle to make it even girlier! :)

Challenges:
Karen's Doodles - Use one of their images plust the theme of something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. So I chose the wedding theme and even added blue to her eyes! :)
Simon Says - Card for a child
Quixotic - Spring
Stamp Something - Pink
Corrosive - Sketch
Stampin' for the weekend - Digi or stamp with ribbon and bow

Paper Trimmer

Here is my old paper trimmer...a cheapie from a mail order catalog like Lakeside Collections. It has a slide out drawer underneath, two side drawers and is a slider style cutter. As you can tell ALL plastic. After less than a year.....

....this is what happens! Notice the rough edges on the green part where it is turning white...yeah that is actually curling up and wearing away!! YIKES! There isn't supposed to be white showing...it should all be green. It made it impossible to get a clean or straight cut and was driving me NUTS! Sooooooooooooooo.....

I bought this bad boy!! HEHE! A solid maple guillotine style cutter! It is called a Swingline Ingento. ALL WOOD AND METAL!! No cheapie plastic! This cutter ROCKS!! For just a little more money than the average plastic one this cutter should last so much longer!

Thanks for having a looksy!

Whats on your workdesk? Wednesday

Okay I did this for 3 reasons....
1. To show my progress of cleaning/organizing...(maybe it will help motivate some of you....ahem...DAWN?!) LOL! I watched your video!
It has taken me a few days to complete and I did the best I could without purchasing anything new to organize because we are in the process of selling our house to move.
2. Participate in WOYWD.
3. Stamping Vacations Supplies Unite #3 Challenge

****Before reading any further I'm sorry the pictures are all wonky and the wording is out of sorts...blogger isn't cooperating and I'm not sure how to fix it. But it is readable so please continue! :)

First off we have my folding work table....what a wreck!! The biggest thing I did here was put all colored scrap paper in a box and all plain white scraps in a separate box. I keep the colored scraps on the table in that MacBook box. Did you notice something else changed?? Maybe a different paper trimmer??!! I will share more about that in a different post!

Next we have my poor poor floor....I utilized a bunch of baskets and boxes to organize my stuff and actually put them away or stacked them up instead of having them scattered everywhere! Looks better I think! Not perfect...but better. :)

Finally we have my desk...oh boy! How did I create anything in that mess? I actually put things away...gasp! I know it is hard to believe but I put stuff in drawers and those cups I have hanging on the wall. WOW, what a difference that made! LOL! I feel so much better walking into that room and knowing I can find things easier and that it looks a little nicer. I think it brought my creativity back too as you can tell from all my posts!

If your still with me I want to thank you once again for all the lovely and thoughtful comments you leave for me...makes me smile knowing people care! :)

-Stacie

One last Florida vacation post!

Figured I better atleast show you a picture with me in it so you know I really was there!! LOL! This was at Coquina Beach where they had these beautiful rocks with holes in them....very unusual really. We heard that it was illegal to take any of the rocks (which are made up of thousands of shells) unless they are already broken away. I'm thinking this might be the only place to find this stuff??
As you can tell even though it is nice and sunny it was still cool by the water which is why we are wearing jackets!
At the top is me and my sweet hubby and the bottom picture is my dearest mom and dad!

Thanks so much for leaving me comments on my vacation pictures...I really appreciate you taking the time to look at them! :)

Finally got to use my new Martha Stewart punches...I LOVE them!!! Also got to use some new paper...the green background paper with rays is from my good pal Annmaree. If you click on her name you will see her fab punched up goodness also (thanks for the inspiration and paper!). The orange paper is from the Bo Bunny Kitchen Spice collection! Big gators!

While in Florida we went to visit my nephew in Gainesville and he said there was a park nearby where you could go see some wild animals. So after lunch we took a drive and came across the park and it was a really neat place. We saw a Bison out in the wild (not something I would expect in Florida) and then we drove to another part associated with the park and they said you were guaranteed to see alligators. They were NOT kidding!!! We saw hundreds of them!! I could show picture after picture after picture of alligators but I just picked out two to share. The cool thing about this place is there is absolutely no barrier between you and the wild animals so you MUST respect them!! Looks like my mom followed that rule right? LOL! This just shows you how close you can really get...you could touch one if you were brave enough...HAHA! I wasn't brave enough to do what my mom did and get in front of one but I did get right behind one...that big monster picture at the top shows how massive they really can be! Truly an experience and we all had so much fun!! Thank goodness we all came out alive too with no missing parts! :)

....see ya later ALLIGATOR!! HEHE!

Beaches...

Well, I was going to catch up yesterday on blogland but my grand plan was foiled by blogger. I couldn't post anything after my Top 3 post nor could I leave comments on anyone elses blog! :( Blogger was NOT playing nice ...... so I'm going to do this post real quick and then I have to head out for the day. I have a few pictures on my new phone from where I was last night so once I figure out how to get them off I will post that also!

Now for the beach pictures above....notice a difference?? Yeah, we did too!!! Let's just say we are glad we only did a one day trip to Daytona Beach because it was pretty crowded and we prefer the nice calm beach where you can actually hear the ocean waves!

Thanks for stopping by...I really appreciate you leaving comments even on non-craft related posts! Makes me smile from ear to ear! :)

Another piece of history...

Castillo de San Marcos National Monument....you can read about it here.
We watched them shoot the cannons and one of the cannons produced a perfect white ring of smoke up in the air...truly amazing but it was too light and up in the sky so I couldn't get my camera to focus fast enough for a picture. The people performing said they have never seen that happen before so we might of gotten a once in a lifetime show!

** If interested I also added a link to yesterdays post in case you want to read about it.
