Church Candle

Stamp is from CowTown Stamps

I have been wanting to try stamping on tissue paper and transferring it to a candle for a long time. I finally had the perfect opportunity to try it out as my mom got accepted into the Catholic church this weekend. I made this as a little congratulations gift. Your not supposed to burn candles with tissue paper so I already had it burned down just enough to fit a tea light so she can still use it if she wants! :)

Tasty Tuesday and Guessing Game!

First off I have these decadent chocolate chip cookie brownie bars!! Can that dessert get any better? Maybe by adding a tall glass of milk!! Now I have gone out and bought the actual one box mix for this recipe and it makes an 8x8 pan BUT I found another way to make it in a 9x13 pan using two mixes....PLUS....here is the really good part....I was able to make it MUCH lower in fat by using applesauce instead of oil, light butter and eggbeaters! I took them to a basketball party and NOBODY knew they were lower in calories and fat...not even all those men!! :) I didn't add the chocolate frosting as they are rich enough as is and I'm not a huge fan of frosting anyways.

Click HERE for the recipe courtesy of Betty Crocker!

ENJOY!!

Now for the fun part.....a nice little guessing game for my followers! You all know I just love trying to trick you! HEHE! Leave a comment with your best guess as to what I have been eating in the picture below! I will draw a name for a small RAK from my stash next Monday and announce the winner on Tuesday.

I am going on a backpacking adventure the next couple of days but will try to catch up on comments this weekend!

HUGS!

Sailing Birthday!

Stamp is from CowTown Stamps

Today is my dads birthday and I made this card for him! I had a little struggle getting my brayering to not have lines, but I finally figured it out after some practice! Used a die cut for the sun and added a button. Made some knots in twine to look like rope and voila....a nautical scene! :)

Tasty Tuesday!

I got an egg roll recipe from my pal Corry and blended it with another recipe I found online to give me an approximate on quantity and also I wanted to try baking them instead of deep frying. I don't even own a deep fryer!! I must say they are quickly becoming our new favorite thing to eat! The best part is you can make up a bunch and freeze them for later and the fillings can be very versatile...throw whatever in them and enjoy! :)

Click HERE for the baked version of egg rolls!

Typewriter Happy Birthday!

I created this card using distress inks and stamps from two Lawn Fawn Stamp sets (Bake Me A Cake and Just My Type). Then used my EK Success punch for the notebook edge (red piece) and added a piece of ruler ribbon I received from my pal Michelle...THANKS! Attached with my tiny attacher and colored the image with my Copics. This is the first time I have ever created my own background paper with stamps and I love how it came out! Let me know what you think as I always appreciate your lovely comments! :)

7. I tend to be a rule-breaker at times so instead of giving this award to 15 people I would like any of my followers to take this and post it on their blog!

Smile Book Box

This is a box I made for Jeanne along with a set of thank you cards which I will show at a later date. She proudly displays this box in her living room filled with the lovely items you all sent to cheer her up!! While I'm talking about Jeanne I should give you an update. She is halfway through her chemo treatments (she needs 4 total and just completed the second round) and is doing very well. The first week and a half after a treatment is a bit rough but then she said she feels pretty good. She is staying extremely positive and she continues to thank each and every one of you for your support! You have no idea how much the items you sent mean to her!! :) She did lose all her hair before the second treatment but she was prepared for that as they told her it would definately happen. When I first saw her bald head I couldn't believe how perfectly round it was and no moles or anything...I actually thought she looked really good!! So I told her atleast she has a great looking head for being bald!!

Tasty Tuesday.....

Rachael Ray Style....AGAIN! LOL!

This one is called Rach's Crowd Pleasing Cheesy Pasta With Carrots and Peas. Click HERE for the recipe! For me it was a good way to hide veggies considering I am not very fond of peas. I will eat them in things but don't care for them plain. You could also change it up a bit and add different veggies or even some meat! Cheesy pasta is always so versatile!

Enjoy!

Another Scrap Page!

Copied my nephew's entire graduating class pics from the local newspaper so he could always remember his classmates and then used my tiny attacher so he could flip through the pages. On the very back I added some clippings that the local grocery store put out for some workers that were graduting and my nephew was one of them.
