Tried a new technique with my brayer and multicolored ink pad. I think it turned out pretty good. I tried to "kiss" the leaf stamp in the middle to give it dimension but I think it turned out a little fuzzy. Oh well, I tried!! The cupcake is what I put on the inside of the card.

Whimsy Stamps Challenge #21 - Eyelets
Chirper Challenge - Something sweet, stamped and glittered (Cupcake on inside of card)

Dragon card for Ariel
*Digital image is a freebie from Dustin Pike
A few weeks or so ago I followed the Operation Nice Blog Hop and along the way I found the link to a very special site. It is called Make A Child Smile. I have been looking for more ways to do "good" in my life and really want to do some volunteer work. But in the area I live in there is hardly anything to do. I actually called a food pantry and they said they couldn't use my help...already had all the people they needed!! I was surprised that I couldn't do SOMETHING...ANYTHING! So I was so happy to find this website!!! I work at a school and just love kids so reading the stories of the chronically ill children is heartbreaking. There is alot of information on the site and each child has a website that tells their medical situation along with family and likes/dislikes. They ask that you mail a card and if you want a gift is optional (Make sure to read the Do's and Dont's on the site). You don't have to committ to a certain number you can do one and stop. You don't have to spend a certain amount of money or even keep in contact with the family. ANYONE can do this!! I plan on helping as much as I can...right now I am making cards and I already got my husband on board to help. We are going to try and pick up a few gifts to send along with the cards. These kids have been dealt a very difficult life so far and I feel very fortunate I don't have any of these medical problems so the least I could do is MAKE THEM SMILE!! Maybe my contribution will perk up their spirits and brighten their day...that is my hope! And I hope anyone who reads this atleast thinks about giving it a try! Thanks for reading! :)
I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
Digital Ink Co. Challenge D-IC003 What's Cooking? A recipe of 2 designer papers and 3 buttons, brads or eyelets.
Whimsy Stamps Challenge #20 - buttons
Corrosive Challenge #31- Pink and Green

Eldon with Flower!
Whew! Things are working again! I used Eldon with Flower..a free digi stamp from TMIA and colored with my markers (I'm not the worlds best at that yet but working on it!). I used my inchworm scissors to cut a decorative border and then cut out some circles for the scalloped pattern at the bottom. Paper and ribbon are from my stash. I also saw one of the DT's on TMIA website use a bow for Eldon and thought it looked adorable so I did the same thing. Must say making a bow that tiny was super super hard! But I think it turned out nice. :)
Challenges:
Mojo Monday#105 - Sketch
There's Magic in the Air - Ribbon and Bow
Color Throwdown - Use the colors olive, rose red, mustard, regal rose and chocolate. I don't have SU papers so I had to improvise a little and then when I took the picture some of the colors don't look the same as they do in person. Sorry...but I don't know how to correct that on camera!

FINALLY a card!!!
It has been a week since my last card and I was itching to make one so bad so here is what I made today. It is for someone but I won't mention any names because she reads this blog! Maybe once she gets it she will post on her blog....but if not I won't be offended...promise! I used a CTMH stamp I received in my blog candy from
Jenn over at Craft Royalty Corner...first time I have been able to use it and isn't it darling? I love it! I distressed the scalloped edges with my ink...thought it turned out neat...I tried to put deeper marks/dots to make it stick out a bit instead of all the same around the edge. Paper was from my stash and I made the flowers with my cricut and dabbed with black ink on a sponge applicator. Did some faux stitching around the outside. The one thing I wanted to add was some sparkle to the dots on the dress but somehow misplaced that part of my stash....guess that means I should tidy up the room a bit huh? I mean I looked everywhere I could think of but it is still missing! So maybe that was a sign that the card was fine just the way it was!
Challenges:
Get Sketchy#7 - Sketch plus distressing
Simon Says- Stitching
Stamp Something- Favorite layout or sketch (fav layout so far and I just found it!) So simple and clean looking!
Cute Card Thursday#79 - Use the colors black and yellow
Polka Doodles- DIY flower

Change to blog
Just a quick note to tell you that I have turned the word verification off but have turned on comment moderation. I think this will be easier for me to make sure I don't miss any comments because I do read all of them! Plus you don't have to type in all that verification garbage which I understand the point but I can't say I'm completely fond of especially when I mix some of the letters up...bad eyes I guess!

Winner!
I am so excited to announce all my winnings!! First off I won the above candy of assorted stamped images over at Ellephantastic Cards and Crafts!
Helen chose my elephant drawing that I posted on Wednesday the 16th as the winner! Maybe I should start drawing on my head from now on?? LOL!
My second winning is a RAK from Deanne over at Am I A Scrap Addict? This was a few weeks ago but we live a good bit apart so I'm guessing shipping will take longer. I don't know what I'm getting so I am anxiously waiting my post to arrive!
My third winning is blog candy from Katie. Her blog is here. It was from the Operation Nice Blog Hop that I participated in and it sure was fun! My first blog hop ever to follow!
There were two prizes and I think I won candy #2 but just in case I won't post a picture...I will wait til that arrives which I think should also be here anyday now! I think my postman thinks I'm stalking the place...LOL! I can't help it though I love getting goodies in the mail!! Even if it is just a card!! Oh and my husband has an Aunt who sends me a card for EVERYTHING and it just makes me smile everytime I get one! :)
I would of posted a card today that I actually had time to make BUT I did something really really stupid! I FORGOT to take a picture before I mailed it out! LOL! What a goofball! Sooooooo, I will tell you a little about it. I used my brayer for the first time with the kaleido pigment color ink pad. I used the blue, red, orange and yellow. Made this my background. Then I stamped a tree line from SU lovely as a tree. Then under the tree line I sponged some green and black for textured grass. This was for a gentleman that helped us do a ton of lumber work on our new property so I thought the trees were quite appropriate!
One last note and then I promise I will stop rambling...HAHA! I want to thank all my new followers for joining and those that have been following and continue to do so and also everyone that has left me a comment whether they are good, bad or indifferent I love hearing from you all! Luckily I'm receiving all good comments so that is great! :)
Now hopefully I can remember to take a picture of my next project so stay tuned!

My work space!
OH I AM SO EXCITED!!! In my new house I will have my very own craft room! ALL MINE MINE MINE! HEHE! Okay, I get a little greedy sometimes! Right now I share it as a spare bedroom/my DH hunting stuff and deer heads. Not very becoming of a craft area I must say. I have 4 deer heads constantly looking at me with 2 of them directly above my table!! So as you can tell the first picture is the bare bones start of my room....probably be next year before I get to use it but that is okay I will be patient...that is what I tell myself anyways! The second picture is what I have now....you can see part of a deer neck above my cricut...LOL! I tried to keep them out of the pic but hard because they are everywhere in that room!! When it gets closer to time I might be asking for some ideas or decorating/organizing. I have been searching the internet and found a food good ideas but the more the better!
Have a good day!

Oriental Card
Probably the best card I created this weekend! I love how it turned out! I usually use colored pencils so this was fun using my markers! If you do happen to know what it means please let me know! :)

Sweet Butterfly Card
I am so glad I got a chance to make a few cards this weekend. Still being new I am experimenting with everything. Some things I found I like and others I don't. I'm not 100 percent happy with this card but overall I don't think it turned out too bad. I was so sad because I do not own any shimmerz or stickles and wanted my butterfly to sparkle so bad!!! Does anyone have suggestions on using glitter to cover an entire digi-image like this butterfly?? I don't think it would have the same effect as something like shimmerz but then again I haven't tried it! I want a clear shimmer effect so I could still see my image. Oh and what type of glue would I use?? Thanks in advance for any suggestions...I really appreciate all feedback!

When it rains it pours...
Well, on top of building a new house I have now been called back to work (today was my first day back) which is great because I like my job but with so much on my plate I start getting overwhelmed. Normal house work here where we live and working on the new house, my job, craft stuff, etc. I'm sure you all know the routine! To finish things off my computer has been acting up so that makes life so much more difficult! I guess the sad reality is I won't be able to craft as much anymore :( I'll still be around but just not with a card everyday.
So if you don't hear from me once in awhile you know what I'm doing!
Wish me luck!

New Driveway...
I know this sounds a little odd but I just can't express how much I love this part of my new driveway!! We are almost one mile off the main road and this is just a small part of my new tree surrounded sanctuary!! Can you smell how fresh the air is just by looking at this picture? HAHAHA!! So much wildlife...deer, turkey, butterflies, etc.!! I can't wait to move out there and get some good pictures...if I can be quiet long enough as to not scare them! :)
Oh I bet this will be soooooooo lovely when the leaves start turning colors!
I also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the nice comments on my blog and also for any answers I receive to questions I ask...very much appreciated!!

Simple Thank You Card
I was watching the news while on vacation one day and there was a lady saying that the troops wanted packages for school kids (either in Afghanistan or Iraq). They needed paper, pencils, pens, sharpeners, snacks and a toy. I thought this sounded like a good idea so I asked my family and friends to help. I was able to collect either supplies or money to make 57 bags!!! I also put this card in there with a nice little letter thanking the troops for their service. Of course I forgot to take a picture of the cute bags but atleast you get the idea!!
I used my cricut to cut out the U.S. and words inside the card and on the front I printed out a small version of the "Star Spangled Banner" then stamped over it with SU stars stamp. Nothing fancy but I was exhausted after making all those bags!! I had to ship in three big boxes and of course fill out a bunch of custom forms...thank goodness my postal guy could help me because they were not easy to understand!
I am entering the card into these challenges:
Our Creative Corner Challenge - Stars and Stripes (blue stars stamped and music sheet for stripes)
Cupcake Craft Challenge #56 - Red, White and Blue

Sympathy Card
This card isn't for anything that has happened lately I'm just trying to build up a stash of cards to have on hand. Everytime I need a card it seems like a last minute ordeal and then I don't have time to make one soooooo I thought a big variety might help me out...and they don't go bad (like cupcakes...as though sweets would set around that long...hehehe) so hopefully I won't have to use this type of card for a long long long time!
Oh and this was my first time hand-stitching a card (I used faux stitching before) and good grief is that harder than I thought!! Making things straight, lining up holes, not poking my finger with the needle...LOL! And it takes some patience!!
I am entering it into the following challenges:
Stamp TV STVTC29 - Sewing
Pennys Challenge #5 - Pearls (I used two black pearls...one in the middle of each Prima flower)
The Pink Elephant Challenge #31 - colors (red, black, yellow and white)
The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #57 - birds
Digital Delights #6 - Sketch
(Sorry this is a few days late...I followed this sketch and then forgot which one it was when I went to post...LOL! I guess that is what I get for trying to combine so many challenges!)

Question...
This is probably a good time to ask this because I have been asked a few questions on my blog and I wondered what was proper...to respond on my blog or to respond on the other persons blog. If it is the other person where do I leave the message?
Merry- If your reading this I answered about the rainbow flower under your question on my blog.
Still trying to get the hang of blogging! Thanks for bearing with me!
I'll be back later with another card!

Card For A Cause
Erin at Scrap, Stamp and Be Merry has posted that her 13 year old neighbor Paige was in a serious boating accident a few weeks ago. Luckily everyone is alive, however, Paige has had to go through numerous surgeries and the doctors had to amputate part of her arm. The article is devastating. My heart goes out to her and the family! They ran out of room in the hospital for flowers and gifts so Erin is asking everyone to make a card to cheer Paige up during this difficult time. So please go check out Erin's website...there is info. about some candy and also how to mail the card to Paige.
Above is the card I made for Paige...I hope the bright cheery colors make her smile!!
I am also entering this into two challenges:
Stampin For The Weekend - colors teal, orange and pink....and I picked the brightest ones possible!! No clue why the teal looks blue in the picture but it is definately not BLUE!

First Template Project!
MINI MILK CARTON BANK
I can't tell you how excited (and scared) I was to find a challenge that used a template. I have always wanted to try one but thought I couldn't do it without some sort of instructions...but lo' and behold I did and I think it turned out quite nice!
It is a bank for my hubby (highwayman). He always puts his change on the table right where we eat and it drives me NUTS...so he asked me a few weeks ago for a holder. This was just the ticket...I even got his started and put all his change in there! :) This was so fun to make so go on over and check out the Create4Fun Challenge #35 here.

First digi stamp card!
This is my very first attempt at using a digi stamp. I got it free (now I can't remember where)..I downloaded a bunch of free ones from someplace so if you recognize this one or any other that I may use in the future please let me know where they came from!! I'm not really sure how I feel about this card....I was trying to follow a sketch and not sure I like how I did the burst in the corner...but it is what it is I suppose and I'll move onto something else. Also, can someone tell me how exactly a digi stamp is supposed to be cut out? All those little grooves are very hard to cut without ripping!!
I am entering this into multiple challenges and as always thank you for all your nice comments!

My Very First Award!!!

I am just beaming with excitement!! Merry so graciously gave me this award...please go check out her lovely work here http://merrymadecardscrafts.blogspot.com/
Thank you very much for giving me my first award! I really appreciate your nice comments on my blog...along with the help you have given me! :)
So the rules are that I have to list 5 things I like to do each day and also pass this along to 5 friends. Here goes.
Things I like to do each day:
1. Eat breakfast ( I could never live without breakfast!)
2. Get online and see what lovely creations everyone is making (then try to actually create something pretty myself)
3. Chat with my friends/family
4. Spend time with my hubby (walking to get the mail, working on our new house, drinking tea and eating scrumpets...LOL! I LOVE my hubby!!!!)
5. Trying to catch up with a good show/movie
5 friends (I guess nobody really knows me yet because I am so new but I will call them a craft friend anyways)
1. Stephanie at Stamping and Sharing
Check out her wonderful crafts here: http://stampingsharing.blogspot.com/
I love her upbeat attitude....also funny and generous! She loves to give things away...one I these days I hope to snag one of her wonderful candies!! 8 hour time difference doesn't look hopeful for me though.
2. Linda at Payne Holler Cards
Her beautiful website is here: http://paynehollercards.blogspot.com/
She creates stunning pieces and sometimes offers good tips (like saving take out containers!)
3. La-La Land Crafts
Check out the weekly challenges and beautiful creations here: http://lalalandcrafts.blogspot.com/
I am thankful for a challenge that even newbies can enter! They don't require specific designer paper/markers or stamps (some of which I can't even afford!)
4. Get Sketchy
Check out the weekly sketch ideas and beadtiful pieces here: http://getsketchy.blogspot.com/
Another place a newbie can get sketch ideas and enter a wonderful contest! I like how you don't have to be a craft genius from the get-go to enter these challenges. Much appreciated!! :)
5. Deanne at Am I A Scrap Addict?
Check out her innovative ideas here: http://a-scrapaddict.blogspot.com/
This is a new one I have been following and I absolutely love how she reuses stuff (going green). Just today I read how she used juice lids to make a mini album! How cool! Thanks for such creative ideas...keep them coming!!
Okay, that just about wraps up my time for today. I better get some chores done before I do anymore crafting...boo! But it MUST be done!
Hope everyone has a great day and if I get my chores done fast enough I just might be back on here to share something I created!

What I have been up to lately...
No cards created the last few days...too busy with building a house. Boy am I exhausted! Here are a few more pics of our new place including about 3900 board feet of lumber we had sawed up to use from trees we cleared out.

Friday Skethers #66 and Penny's Challenge
Yesterday was my birthday but that doesn't mean I slacked off all day...I made this gorgeously sparkled card for my friends bridal shower. Followed the sketch here: http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/friday-sketchers-66-sponsored-by-simon.html I also entered it in Penny's #4 challenge here: http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.com
Once again...my cricut saved me because I did not have gold flowers so I made my own!!

New Property!
I want to start by sharing a small picture of our new property where we are putting a house...it is mostly wooded and we own a little over 19 acres so I can't show ALL my pictures!! This is the lovely view I will get from my front porch...I even bought the retired stampin' up lovely as a tree stamp set just for this reason!!!
I'm sure you can see why. :)

EECK!
So I just went back and looked at that lace/shoe picture in a bigger size and it looks terrible!! Not sure why?? Trust me the card looks ALOT better in person!

Birthday card for 2 challenges!
So I created this card for a neighbor/friend that shares the same birthday as me. She is a wee bit older than me (probaly by 60 years or so) and thought she would enjoy the lace and fancy shoes! I used some paper and the shoe from my stash, some ribbon from Hobby Lobby and Prima flowers. I am entering this into the La La Land flower challenge and also the Daring Card Makers "Lace" Challenge.
Oh and did I mention I bought MORE stuff today?? I feel that this crafting is going to be a BIG addiction for me!! But it is so much fun!!

Birthday Stash!
My birthday is in 3 days and as I posted earlier my hubby took me shopping and I got LOADS of goodies! I feel like the luckiest woman alive! I'm sure it was not loads of fun for him while watching me choose between styles and colors of various items. I'm sure he was thinking...would you pick something out already!!! Several hours and stores later the picture above is what I ended up getting, a few items are not shown in the picture but you get the idea!
I did however get a little payback yesterday on making him shop for so long...we spent the majority of the day shopping for supplies/tools for our newest project...BUILDING A HOUSE!!! I was not thrilled to do this BUT I tried not to complain because he was so patient at letting me shop...I'm sure we have all been there! LOL! More info on the property/house later. For now I must go make a birthday card!

Apologies
I doubt anyone is following my blog but myself but I wanted to apologize for hardly having any projects posted. I have been spending my time researching some new ideas and collecting supplies and in the meantime I have just posted about winning candy. Although I have yet to figure out how to post those on my sidebar! Need training!
Anyways, I now have some knowledge and some tools under my belt thanks to my DH for taking me birthday shopping! I will post a picture of my goodies later! I was so excited I could hardly sleep! :)

Lighthouse card
I made this for my mom's birthday. She collects lighthouses and I got the new Life's a Beach cricut cart and had to break it in along with my Martha Stewart glitter. I am entering this into the Cute Card Thursday and Pink Elephant challenge.

Post-It note holder with matching pen
My husband is an engineer and works in construction. He saw what I was going to do and requested I make one for him to put on his desk so I found this awesome paper at my local craft store with all kinds of construction signs on it. Thought was quite appropriate. Then I also put the paper inside a rsvp pen to match! I am entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge where you are to make anything BUT a card.
